Next Oscar Winner? Bardo, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths!
I don’t know, why aren’t enough people talking about this film i.e. Bardo, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths! The film is directed by one of the best directors in the world right now: Alejandro González Iñárritu. For those who have no clue who is a person is then, let me help you out. He is the director of Oscar-winning movies like Birdman and The Revenant. The director is the winner of the Academy Award five times.
The film’s trailer is something I landed on randomly, and without a doubt, this is one of the most intriguing things on the internet. In the first viewing, it feels like a documentary on a journalist/public figure. That is somewhat true, but not entirely. The camera work looks interesting.
About the film
The film is the journey of Silverio, a Mexican journalist and documentary filmmaker who returns to Mexico for a project. Unexpectedly, the return makes Silverio answer some pertinent questions about his association with the country, and corresponding relationships.
By the premise, this feels like a very personal film. With the director’s previous films, this would be a very immersive, and visually stunning experience. That’s what the trailer also promises.
Important to mention, I really love the title. It conveys a very interesting layer of human existence or identity.
Conclusion
The director is known to play with unique subjects, and experiment with the forms of storytelling. One of my favourite films, Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) is a one-cut film quite like, Sam Mendes's 1917. But, that was meta-cinema about a once-popular stage artist who played a superhero, an upcoming young actor and a clash of their egos or creativities.
The Revenant is the film which got Leo DiCaprio the much-deserved Oscar. The stories of how the film was shot are well-known among cinephiles.
I couldn’t be more excited to watch this film, and I am just like me lot of people who be expecting to get some nominations. The film has been released in a few countries, and they are saying it might win the Oscars for sure.
The film will be available on Netflix from 16th December. Don’t miss the movie.
