Lollapalooza India, one of the world’s biggest music festivals, is making its Asian debut with a two-day show in Mumbai. The Lollapalooza India music festival kicked off on January 28-29 at Mahalaxmi Racecourse in Mumbai.

The international music festival was held at Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Racecourse and saw thousands of music enthusiasts dancing, singing and nodding.


Lollapalooza has come to Asia for the first time, brought to the country by BookMyShow, as a co-producer and promoter of the festival.

The inaugural edition of Lollapalooza in India concluded on Friday night in Mumbai, with headliners American DJ Diplo and rock band The Strokes.


The Strokes played their perennial songs like ‘Last Nite’ and ‘Take it or let it’. They also seem swept up in Pathaan fever, as they referenced the film onstage.

‘I saw Pathaan last night and I’m very inspired,’ said Julian Casablancas, the rock band’s lead singer, during his time on stage.


On the penultimate day of the global music event, Indian rapper Divine also wowed the audience. His songs including ‘Mirchi’, ‘Kaam Pachees’ and ‘Baazigar’ made everyone dance. The rapper played one of his songs and paid his respects to the late MC Sidhu Moosewala.

Day 1

Day 1 of Lollapalooza India saw the presentation of #LollaForChange led by BookASmile, BookMyShow’s charity initiative. As a minimal waste festival zone, managing food waste and increasing sustainable measures were at the core of the festival.


World-leading musician AP Dhillon wowed music lovers with his performance on the first day of Lollapalooza India, starring Aswekeepsearching, The Yellow Diary, Japanese Breakfast, Bloodywood, Chelsea Cutler and Greta Van Fleet.

The international music festival was held at Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Racecourse and saw thousands of music lovers dancing, singing and nodding at the music festival.

The lineup of the music festival includes a mix of Indian and international artists including Prateek Kuhad, Divine, Japanese Breakfast, and Madeon.

Others, Alec Benjamin, Jackson Wang, Chelsea Cutler, The Wombats, Imanbek, Kasablanca, Apashe, Raveena, The Yellow Diary, Bloodywood, Sandunes, and Aswekeepsearching.

The F16s, Kayan, Tejas, House of Hashbass, Madboy/Mink, T.ill APES, Kumail, Kavya, Mali, Tanmaya Bhatnagar, Easy Wanderlings, Abhi Meer, Bombay Brass, Parimal Shais, Siri, Tracy De Sa and Aadya.

Day 2

On Sunday, the crowd was wowed by rock group The Strokes and Indian rapper Divine at the event. The Strokes played several of their classic songs, including Take It or Leave It and Last Nite.

The rock group’s lead singer, Julian Casablancas, said on stage: ‘I saw Pathaan last night and I’m so inspired.’

Thousands of people flocked to Mahalaxmi Racecourse for the musical extravaganza to witness his favorite performers. Everyone enjoyed Divine’s music, which included hits like Baazigar, Kaam Pachees and Mirchi.

The rapper also paid tribute to the late artist Sidhu Moose Wala by playing one of his songs. He said at the event: ‘I am lucky to have worked with Sidhu, we will not let music die.’

Jackson Wang, a K-pop sensation, said ‘Namaste’ to his Indian audience. He sang some of his most popular songs, including Come Alive and Go Ghost. At the event, Aadya performed first, followed by Apache, Parimal Shais, and Raveena.

American band Cigarettes After Sex, as well as Indian singer-songwriter Prateek Kuhad, were among the main attractions on the last day of the two-day event. Over two days, at least 40 artists performed on four festival stages.
